Work-Life Balance at D’Amore-McKim Part-Time MBA

August 18, 2019

Our part-time MBA program is designed for working professionals so our classes meet when you are not typically expected at work. I looked at other universities and they do not have the level of flexibility that northeastern offers. They have a 520 class in the 730 class, they have a Saturday class if that works for your schedule. I study a lot about flexibility in the workplace, and I think the programs that we offer here at D’Amore-McKim School of Business offer a lot of different flexibility that really embody what a lot of organizations are doing today to help meet the demands of work in life. To be able to take a semester off when you need to because obviously jobs go in cycles it’s reassuring to know that the program was designed for what we want to do. We know you need to have access in the evening, we know you need to have access on the weekends and our faculty are really good about being responsive and helpful wherever they possibly can. And professors are very supportive, they understand that most of us are going to be at our jobs from 8 to 9 hours before we even show up to the classroom. They really made an effort to be available outside of traditional work hours. I remember one night, I was up to till midnight working on an assignment, I emailed my professor a question and I was very surprised to receive a response within five minutes of that email at midnight. Doing a part-time MBA and balancing full-time work is not an easy thing to do, but the payoff that you get as a result of it really is significant. Every experience you have in your life helps to prepare you for the next steps having to juggle family and extracurricular activities and studying and all of those things definitely helps me now balance my time. the D’Amore-McKim School of Business, part-time mba program definitely helped me to develop my time management skills. we know you’re working, you’re working hard, we know you have family commitments and community commitments, but you’re also making a commitment to yourself, to go back to learn more to get more education and we’re here to help you.
