It is a big moment. It has of course
great symbolic power here in New York because Times Square is such a central location,
the heart of the city. Our office is just around the corner, that is why it
is a great fit to open the office here, to celebrate the opening of the office here and to have some fun by displaying Eintracht on one of these video
walls here at Times Square. It is also something very special for me. I also said it in my short speech that I came here
for the first time in the middle of the 90s and as a typical tourist I did spend my first
night here at Times Square. If you come back after 25 years and if you can
contribute your part to the opening of the office, in such a location, the images behind me;
that is an emotion that is special, not only for me personally but for the entire club. It is like a dream for me. It is a goosebump
moment that we experienced here. I am a member of the supervisory board for 10 years
and it’s great that we had such a development. There were times when we very speaking very little English in the club and now that we are opening an office here in New York, in one of the most interesting markets in the sport business,
with our partner Indeed, I do find very good. We already had very exciting meetings over the last 48 hours. The new office is great, it is “new economy”,
it is unimaginable, it is so inspiring. I do look forward to spending more time in New York again. I had lived here for a longer period of time.
I do look forward to coming back. and to being more present here with Eintracht. I am now in my twentieth year as president and on occasions like today you reflect on what it was like twenty years ago. Our viewers and fans that watch this video know that as well. We were running short on many things –
training facilities, lost license, relegations and all. We had to manage a lot of problems.
To take the step now and to go to the US, that is very meaningful to us, it lets you
wake up in the hotel, especially in a location like this, and wonder “What is going on here“.
These are big pictures, literally speaking.“
