Stop Stressing & Manage Your Time!

Hey guys Trudi here from It’s the TruStory. OK today we’re in a box you’re in a box you are in a box actually, I’m in a
box – because I’m doing something I’m doing something really important which
is I’m trying to make myself not stress out and the biggest thing that makes me
stressed honestly is when I do a sh*tty job with time management which is
something that’s so easy for me I’m sure for you to to do at any point because a
million distractions right like and there’s so many things on my to-do list
that I’d much rather be looking at my Instagram I don’t know if that happens
to you too and/or I get really close to a deadline and then I can’t breathe so that’s anxiety so anyways I’m just doing a super quick
episode today to share with you the one thing that I found that has actually
worked for me this is something that comes right from the Agile playbook. It’s
something called time boxing and what it is it’s super simple it totally
works for me and I know it’ll work for you too what you do is instead of
creating a to-do list you’re just gonna do a little thing
where you take a calendar and you make boxes of time but whatever it is it you
have to get done so let’s say like let’s say you have an exam coming up you could write on your to-do list study for the test and then you’re f*cked right
because that takes like how many hours and that is ample time to goof around
that happens to me too so like for example I write website copy for
clients so I could write on there “write content for X website” and then
immediately go into a coma you know how that goes – so instead when you time box
you just break things out into chunks into tasks that you can actually get
done so for example I might say “write the home page for X client” and that’s
actually exactly what I did this morning and it totally worked and I give myself
a limited amount of time – that’s the thing about boxing your time right so in a
given day I might have four or five different time boxes where I go okay I’m
gonna check emails and that’s going to be a 30 minute box and I’m gonna do that at 11:30. I’m gonna write this thing from
2:00 to 3:00 and that’s gonna be another box. I’m gonna make out with Chazz
Michael Michaels – my dog – as most of you know from 3:00 to 3:10 (that sounds like a lot of time & he has terrible breath) but you know what I’m saying box it – time boxing and you know what?
That’s all the time I actually have it’s this quick today that’s right because
I’m super busy and you know what so are you. I value your time, I value you
