We love kayaking. We started with a tandem hard kayak then moved into an Intex tandem inflatable. Now we have 2 single, inflatable Coleman kayaks.
One thing I do is inflate the kayaks the day before. That way when I get there I'm ready to get in the way & I have more energy.
We love how complete and informative your vids are.

Loved this video. We were there last July. We stayed at the Cortez KOA and went out to monument valley and back once again to Mesa Verde
Y’all mentioned the million dollar highway and it would be a great ride on a motorcycle. We stay in Silverton nearly every summer and ride out of the camp into the high country on our utv.

  • Reply Earl Slater January 14, 2020 at 12:59 am

We opted for the waist PFD's. Coast Guard approved and much more comfortable. Can be inflated with gas cylinder (single usage) or simply blown up (or for adding air pressure if needed). Slip over your head for same fit if in the water. These seem fine unless you are doing white water stuff – which I'm not!

We did a 6 week trip out west in September-October 2017 and visited many of the places you're covering in your videos. Mesa Verde was one of the highlights for us and we were completely blown away by how awesome it is there. We only had one day there and also did the Balcony House tour, but we'll definitely be going back and will do the other tours. Cliff Palace looks unbelievable and I enjoyed seeing the footage you captured. I recently discovered your channel and love your content. My hubby is retiring in two years and we're also planning to go RVing full time. Your channel has been very helpful as we prepare for that adventure. Cheers!

Cliff dwelling is easy for you to say!!  Hard to beat CO for any riding. So beautiful anywhere you go. Have you been in an area where the temps have dropped and you needed to keep the water from freezing?  If so, would heat tapes do the trick?  Thanks again for the video.

Another great job on the video guys and I know how much work and time, the editing will devour before a nice finished product is ready for release…. so BRAVO. I'm trying to get my sh#$%t together (mostly VA benies lined up) so I can get out there with you. I had a few major setback on this adventure I had planned a few years ago… like a hit and run driver took me out on my Harley and caused too much to go into here n now (fear not I will not make you suffer through that). I also was forced to close mu business and lost 1/2 of my planned retirement income. But I believe that you must just learn to suck it up switch gears (change lanes? lol) and buggy on down that road. So I will be hitting it with an older class A (28 ft) and trailer, with my Road King. I am leaning toward adding an e Bike as well (for a quick trip to store or some other mini-emergency?) Which leads me to what I want to ask (apologize for this rambling). Have you guys experienced any parks that were not Harley friendly, (Another reason for the e bike) Sorry for this long message I'm sure you already have a workload of msgs to go through!! AGAIN..GREAT JOB!! KEEP IT UP!! Thanks for any tips on Harley.

Many of the high mountain roads in Colorado are the most enjoyable from Mid June to early September. Before or after that can be iffy. Snow can happen any month of the year at those elevations.

  • Reply Jacqui Zink January 14, 2020 at 5:30 pm

Nice post on Mesa Verde and the outstanding RV park. Regarding the opinion that the park should have more hookups; there were no big rigs when national park campgrounds were built and it is too high an expectation to say they should fit big rigs and have full hookups. 15 full hookups in a national park is great, they do not have the budget to remodel all their campgrounds because there are these huge rigs that want to be plugged in.

Suggestion when your looking for a place to eat ask the local people about places to eat . Does Lucille slow down at all on steep hills ? Chad & Tara may I ask how long ya's have been married ? I love Colorado it's a beautiful state . When I was in the Air Force I went to Tech school @Lowry Air Force Base in Denver . I also drove out to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs . It is so beautiful there & the setting it's in is quite beautiful . If you get a chance it's well worth the drive there & back again . The cliff dwellings were amazing . Was it hard to breathe at the7,000 foot elevation ?

  • Reply Dee Jay January 15, 2020 at 4:34 am

Once again…another great video you two! Beautiful scenery out there…Mesa Verde is on the 'bucket list'!! Tip: How do we pick a place to eat, when we don't know where to stop at? When in doubt…Go to the place that has the most motorcycles parked out in front of it!! Works every time! Bikers always stop where the food is good, and the beverages are cold.

  • Reply casper3380 January 15, 2020 at 4:38 am

Snow in May, welcome to Colorado. The weather in this state is very unique. Been in Cortez 36 years. Seen snow 11 months out of 12 and 8 inches in June. Mesa Verde is a great park. Been there countless times and go yearly. The million dollar highway on a motorcycle is gorgeous. Scary in spots but a very nice ride.

Often campground info won’t mention ATV access to trails or riding areas.
It would be cool if you would include that in your takes and tales for those of us with toy haulers.

  • Reply Garret Lewis January 15, 2020 at 6:02 pm

Watching your video got my wife and I interested in a possible trip there. Probably will not happen for quite some time as we both work and live in Virginia. Anyway, I was looking at the NPS website and saw some information about the campground you may be interested in because you made a comment about it in your video. From the Morefield Campground (inside Mesa Verde) website, "NOTE: Morefield RV & Campground does not allow RV's longer than 46'."

I went there in 2017 in August. I think your video is awesome. It is truly a special place. I think your video makes it look a little rougher than it actually is. Maybe rougher is not the right word scarer than it actually is. I was 66 years old at the time. I only went to the cliff palace tour so I can see why you all were out of breath. Nice job.

  • Reply Libby Olson January 16, 2020 at 3:26 am

I was sure that bird would top it off with a poop dropping! Thankfully it didn’t happen!
Loved the cliff dwellings! I always thought they were further south…if I lived there I’d want to Snowbird in the winters. A house with only a fireplace is not place to call home in the mountains’ winters!

  • Reply Ron Terry January 16, 2020 at 5:52 am

Sounds like you just missed the Iron Horse Classic bike race in Durango. It is held every Memorial Day weekend and is quite a party. It is organized around the main bike race that goes from Durango to Silverton but there are a number of other events like a mountain bike race and a criterion. I know you guys are more into “motor powered” cycles than the human powered variety that this event is based around but it is a really fun weekend and is worth returning for. We will be riding the main ride this year. I hope it’s warmer that last year! 🙂

What a great place. Last summer we spent 3 weeks traveling to all the national parks and monuments in Colorado. We really enjoyed the southwest corner. We stayed at the RV park that is right across the highway from Mesa Verde. Our first night was Walmart docking- we were entertained by a high speed police chase through the parking lot.
