Ken Jennings Is ‘The Greatest of All Time’!

January 15, 2020

(audience cheering) – Is that for me?
– The Greatest – For Me?
– Of All Time. Ken Jennings.
– Thank you guys! – You are now officially
Jeopardy!’s Greatest of All Time, how are you feeling? – I’m just shell-shocked,
like I’m bewildered. After finishing second place
in three or four of these, I just kind of thought I missed my prime, this is maybe not gonna happen to me. I’ve had such a great time, played against the best, but, maybe I don’t get one of these. I can’t believe what just happened. – This tournament didn’t
work out in your favor, but what’s on your mind now? – The first thing I think of is like, the best player clearly
won this tournament. I think that if I had really played the other two,
I would’ve lost to just some terribly bad breaks that would bug me, but no, Ken’s performance out
there was just otherworldly. He like entered some new
mode I’ve never seen before and there was just no beating that. – Brad you’re still Jeopardy!’s
all-time money winner, but this tournament just wasn’t yours. Now that it’s all over, what’s
going through your mind? – Disappointed, I would’ve liked to have given a better showing than I did. Although it did give me the
chance to shout some people out in Final Jeopardy! which
I’ve never done before so, there’s a silver lining to everything.

There's Ken Jennings and everybody else. You look at great streaks in history. Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak. Brett Favre starting 297 straight games as a quarterback in the NFL. Ken Jennings winning 74 straight Jeopardy! games. They'll all never be broken

Although I am strongly for James, I applaud Ken for his amazing and impressive run through this tournament. Brad wins the sharpest dressed award by far. James and Brad show good sportsmanship. These three men are all great champions!

Congratulations, Ken Jennings! My great-grandmother would've been very happy to know that you've been crowned the Greatest of All Time Jeopardy! champion after watching you on your original run on Jeopardy! 15 years ago. Brad Rutter and James Holzhauer, well done. Great matches. All three of you are the greatest Jeopardy! players in my book.

Congratulations, Ken! And to Brad and James, it was a good try, and you both should be commended for it. Great tournament, ABC and everybody!

I was pulling for James but I knew deep down Ken was going to take the crown. My favorite part about this tournament was seeing how happy it made Alex. For him, watching the two best players(and Brad) go head to head was an absolute thrill. I wanted it to last longer but I'm glad it happened in the first place.

  • Reply John Lee January 15, 2020 at 5:15 am

FINALLY, Ken wins a tournament. Take THAT, Brad Rutter! Your streak is SNAPPED! But in all honesty, these guys deserve to be congratulated for their accomplishments.

  • Reply cassidybb10 January 15, 2020 at 5:16 am

Brad what happened?!?! But honestly Ken and James played in the era of super players so it made sense that they ran the show. I did think James would come back at the end for and win, to play one more match. But alas, Ken won, and it seemed fitting that he did. Nicely played Jep team. Wonderfully produced epic battle. And might I add…Mr. Trebek you were awesome as well.

  • Reply Titus Wang January 15, 2020 at 5:17 am

Ken deserves the title after 15 years of his streak, losing to Brad in every single tournament, and previously was the only person who could not say he won a tournament lol. All jokes aside, thank you Jeopardy for giving us the opportunity to see the three of them again in what was possibly the greatest game show tournament period.

  • Reply Riley O January 15, 2020 at 5:20 am

Ken and James were both awesome it I feel bad for poor Brad. Wish he would have at least won one game!

  • Reply John Christian January 15, 2020 at 5:23 am

Sorry, but Ken Jennings is NOT the greatest of all-time because he risked without any help from James. This #JeopardyGOAT event was supposed to be epic, but with that event…

This officially marks Brad’s first and so far only lost to a human competitor!

The GOAT tournament was the Beatles equivalence to Lennon vs. McCartney vs. Best

  • Reply Ethan Cua January 15, 2020 at 5:42 am

This was not only Brad’s first Jeopardy loss to a human opponent, but also being a nonfactor throughout the tournament.

  • Reply Moses Henning January 15, 2020 at 5:42 am

Not to take away any shine but I think Ken knew this would be quite possibly the last time he would see Alex. We all know his health is turning for the worse (you could even see his wig on in the episode) and I think this tournament solidified Ken as the next jeporady host. I hope Alex gets better and continues to host Americas favorite gameshow.

  • Reply youtube account January 15, 2020 at 5:44 am

Ken will need to take over after Alex

  • Reply yankeeladee02 January 15, 2020 at 5:45 am

I’m mostly thankful Alex fought so hard to stay as healthy as he could for this very special tournament. It just wouldn’t have been the G.O.A.T. with anyone else hosting. He had a brave and happy face, but I could see he seemed somewhat tired.
I will keep wishing, hoping, praying for a miracle to restore his health. I sure wouldn’t want that treasure of a man to suffer. 💜
I believe Ken would be the perfect choice to follow in Alex’ footsteps as host. Certainly Alex would give his stamp of approval. A very entertaining and and educational battle of the brainiacs, but Ken was next level. Congratulations to all of them. 🐐🎊🏆🥇🥈🥉🥂🍾🤓

    Answer: Ken Jennings

Who is the greatest Jeopardy player of all time?

  • Reply John Rolf Reigstad January 15, 2020 at 5:52 am

74 Jeopardy wins in a row can be beaten. 56 consecutive games with a hit can be beaten. What will not be beaten: two MLB grand slam homeruns in the same inning off the same pitcher. An even more certainly unbeatable feat: being the first person to walk on the moon— but even then one must be careful to define the relevant terminology. Which moon?

This shows proves racism is well and alive in America. Why did it have to be a White guy winning this. They can yell equality all day long but this shows proves different. SMBH

  • Reply NicksCoolLife January 15, 2020 at 5:53 am

Damn it, the leaker was right. Whoever leaked this result in advance, fuck you to hell!

On a more prevalent note though, excellent job Ken! I may dislike your character but I can't deny that you are indeed a behemoth of a champion, and that you didn't just win 74 games for nothing! Great job to James too for a respectable second place finish and for coming close to pulling off the biggest comeback in Jeopardy history this match (Seriously, just ONE FJ clue tonight was the difference between a match 5 and Ken's coronation!).

As for Brad, I truly do feel bad for the guy. The internet's gonna shit all over the guy now after this tournament, but whether his skills are as good as they used to be or not, he is still a hell of a player, and the fact that it took a brutal buzzsaw combo of Ken and James to finally defeat him is a testament to how fantastic he truly is as a contestant. You gotta give the guy respect, even if he isn't quite at the level of Ken or James.

In the end, Ken may be "the Greatest of All Time", but James will always be my favorite player of all time. Too bad we won't be seeing him or these other two guys again until at least after Trebek leaves the show.

Ken was a man on a mission and he accomplished that mission like a true champion! Ken truly deserve that GOAT trophy! Well, my favorite player Brad Rutter went undefeated for 19 years, and won all four major Jeopardy tournaments, including three wins over Ken Jennings. However, he was much slower on the buzzer than usual, and strangely he missed a lot of questions. Sometimes life makes no sense at all. However, congratulations to all three contestants, Alex Trebek, and the entire Jeopardy staff that made this another exciting event.
