Hey, we all get busy. Sometimes our mind
is cluttered and our lives are as well. Well, I’m gonna teach you how to manage
your time better and even be more productive and if you stay to the end of
this video, I have a master hack productivity list that is just going to
add to what I’m already sharing with you in this video.
Hi, I’m Adriana Girdler, a Productivity specialist with over 20-plus years in
the business. Let me tell you, good time management is the key, the foundation to
being productive and I’m going to share with you some tried and true techniques
that I use all the time and four key tips that you’re gonna want to integrate
into your busy schedule today. Don’t create a crazy schedule. It is so
easy for us to create a to-do list and it becomes a laundry list and then we
get overwhelmed by that and then all of a sudden there’s no way we’re gonna be
able to accomplish everything so what I would like for you to start thinking
about is, yeah you can have your list but prioritize it. Pick one to two main goals
and just get that done. If you’re gonna focus on that and not have all those
other items present in front of you, I’m not saying get rid of them but maybe put
them aside and just focus on those goals, it makes a world of a difference from a
time management perspective and it puts you in a positive mindset because you
actually got those two core elements done. When you’re done you can rotate it
back on to your main list but at the present moment focus on one to two
things that are critical for you to get done and don’t over schedule that list.
Pay attention to your calendar. This actually is a common mistake I see in
organizations all the time where people are so focused on their to-do list for
today that they’re not taking a look at their calendar and what I mean by this
is you have to constantly take a look at your calendar from activities you have
to do today, tomorrow, this week and even a month from now and in my world I
actually look out months from now sometimes going into the next year. So
that all being said is when you’re trying to be really productive and
really manage your time effectively, you want to focus on your one to two goals
as I said in the other tip, but you have to take into account what else is coming
down the pike so don’t just focus on today; integrate and look at your
calendar so you can see what else you have to do because maybe just five
minutes here or a half-hour there in regards to those
future activities can make a huge difference because a little bit does go
a long way. Are you ready to get back on track and not be overwhelmed?
Write down less stress in the comments below DON’T OVERWORK YOURSELF. If you’re
gonna be the master of your time and learn how to manage it properly, well
then you’ve really got to take into account how you’re working. Stress levels can get
really high and you don’t want to constantly be plugging in things that
you have to do so schedule in some rest time. That’s really important, it’s
important to your well-being and your health and it’s going to make a huge
difference. Now if you’re saying, Adriana, I’m so busy I can’t do it, I get it.
You may want to put some rules into place like if you have kids you’re not
gonna check any of your emails till they go to bed, okay, fine, I get it. Or you may
want to say, you know what? The weekend truly is my time, Saturday there’s
nothing, Sunday during the day there’s nothing, but on Sunday evening I’m gonna
prep for the following week. That’s okay too, but you really got to balance it out. Fit rest time into your schedule. Have you ever heard of burnout? We all been
there one time or another, if it hasn’t been burning out at work, it’s probably
been burn out at home because not only do we have these time commitments and
obligations from a work perspective, if you have a family I’m sure you have lots
of them going on at home, too. You’ve got to schedule in some time for yourself. Now,
how is this going to help you from being a master of your time and ensuring that
you’re really good with your time management? It’s huge! Sometimes five
minutes of de-stressing can do just that: help you de-stress and look at things in
a different light so schedule some time for yourself, you
really are important. Just like on the plane when they tell, when the oxygen
mask falls off, don’t put it on the kid first, put it on you, then put it on the
kid because guess what? You can’t help anybody if you yourself are not focusing
on you and helping yourself, so schedule some time for yourself, you are worth it.

Hey Adriana! I adore all these tips. I agree you need to set-up sleep sleep time and time to destress. I've made it a point to schedule a monthly massage day each month. My time management tip- Use a timer and only work in blocks of 15-30 minutes. This has helped me immensely.

This is a great video! When I was at my last job my to do list never ended and I felt like I had to do everything. After becoming self employed I quickly learned to just tackle 1 or 2 bigger things a day and get really good at saying No. I put requests through a filter 1) Does it make me money? 2) Does it actually make an impact? 3) Do I actually have the time? Usually the answer ends up being No and its one less thing on my list 🙂
